Scientific Name: Pistia stratiotes ‘Rosette’

Like normal water lettuce, the rosette form really does resemble a floating head of lettuce or cabbage, but this one has lovely ruffled edges as well, making it look, for all the world like a green rose! The lime green leaves are spongy, crinkly and velvet in texture. When mature, each leaf may grow up to 12 inches. One individual plant can grow up to 24 inches in diameter, though water lettuce has a running spread.
